  • Soft cloth or microfiber towel: Use this to wipe down the exterior of the harness and pods.
  • Water: For basic cleaning, use water to rinse off dirt and paint stains.

Cleaning Process:
  • Prepare your workspace: Find a clean area to work in.
  • Empty the pods: Make sure all paintballs are removed from the pods.
  • Clean the harness and pods: Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel dampened with water to wipe down the exterior of the harness and pods, removing any dirt or paint stains.
  • Allow to dry: Let the harness and pods air dry completely before storing them.

Regular cleaning and maintenance of your paintball harness and pods ensure they remain in good condition, allowing for easy access to paintballs during intense games. Proper care of your equipment contributes to a more organized and enjoyable paintball experience.

For Your Air Tank

Cleaning Equipment:
  • Soft cloth or microfiber towel: Use this to wipe down the exterior of the air tank.
  • Cotton swabs: Ideal for reaching small crevices and tight spaces.
  • Cleaning solution: Utilize a manufacturer-recommended cleaning solution specifically designed for paintball equipment. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the tank.
  • Toilet Paper: Convenient for drying off the tank after cleaning, providing a gentle touch to prevent scratches.

Cleaning Process:
  • Prepare your workspace: Locate a well-ventilated and clean area to work in. Lay down a towel or mat to protect the surface from any potential spills (a sheet of cardboard works well too).
  • Disconnect the tank: Follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer to safely detach the air tank from the marker. To maximize safety, it is recommended that the tank be empty while cleaning it thoroughly.
  • Wipe down the exterior: Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to remove any dirt, paint residue, or debris from the outer surface of the air tank. Pay attention to the valve area and any other accessible crevices.
  • Clean the valve area: Moisten a cotton swab with the cleaning solution and gently clean the valve area, removing any accumulated grime or residue. Take care not to disturb or damage the valve components. Repeat as necessary until the area is clean.
  • Inspect O-rings and threads: Check the O-rings and threads for any signs of wear, damage, or dirt. If needed, use a cotton swab dampened with the cleaning solution to clean them carefully. Replace any damaged or worn O-rings as recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Dry the tank: Use toilet paper or a soft cloth to thoroughly dry the exterior and interior of the tank. Ensure that no moisture remains, as it may contribute to corrosion or affect the tank's performance.
  • Reassemble and store: Once the tank is completely dry, reassemble it according to the manufacturer's instructions. Take care to properly reattach any valves, seals, or protective caps. Store the tank in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

By following these maintenance steps, you can keep your air tank in optimal condition, ensuring its reliability and extending its lifespan. Remember, safety should always be a top priority when handling and maintaining your paintball equipment.

Tactical Flanking

6/26/2024

To gain a competitive advantage on the paintball field, mastering tactical flanking is a game-changer that allows you to outmaneuver opponents without compromising sportsmanship.

Flanking involves navigating the field to reach advantageous positions on the sides or behind enemy lines. By taking alternative routes and approaching from unexpected angles, you can catch opponents off guard and create confusion within their ranks.

The key to successful flanking is stealthy movement coupled with effective communication. Coordinate with your teammates to ensure synchronized actions and maximize the element of surprise. Maintain a low profile, move swiftly but silently, and use available cover to remain undetected.

Once you've reached your desired flank position, choose your moment to strike. Timing is crucial. Wait for distractions or engagements elsewhere on the field that draw your opponents' attention away from their flanks. This creates the perfect opportunity to strike swiftly and eliminate unsuspecting foes.

When initiating the flank, focus on target selection and prioritization. Identify key opponents who pose a significant threat to your team's success or control of objectives. Engage them from the side or rear, taking advantage of the element of surprise to increase your chances of eliminating them swiftly.

While flanking, it's essential to maintain situational awareness and adaptability. Be prepared for unexpected encounters and be ready to adjust your strategy on the fly. Effective communication with your teammates remains crucial during the entire process to ensure coordinated actions and maintain a strategic advantage.

By mastering the art of tactical flanking, you can turn the tide of battles, disrupt opponents' formations, and contribute to your team's triumph. So, remember to move with finesse, communicate effectively, and strike decisively from unexpected angles. Get ready to become a formidable force on the paintball field!

The Ultimate Guide To Planning A Birthday Party At KC’s!

With the exception of specialty games (like Fort Knox and The 24 Hour Game) where the entire field is totally booked, virtually every day of the year is available for private parties! If you’re kiddo has a birthday coming up, having a party here at KC’s might be the perfect way to celebrate their big day!
Thinking about organizing a birthday party here at KC’s? We are super excited to have you! And we wanted to make this as fun, memorable, and stress free as possible for you, so we put together a checklist of the top 7 things to keep in mind when planning the party!

  1. Determine the Party Size: Guest numbers make a big impact on everything from which party package makes the most sense for you here at the field, to how much food to buy. Getting a good idea of how many guests you’re expecting should always be the very first step.
  2. Reserve the Field: Contact us here at the field to reserve the date and time for the birthday party. You can do this by simply calling us at (253) 377-6254 or you can schedule online here.
  3. Send Invitations: Whether you create cards or just send a text, you’re going to want to make sure that guests know all the important details (date, time, location, cost, any special instructions or requirements) and you’re going to want to get confirmations on who is coming and who won't be able to make it.
  4. Food and Drinks: Plan the menu for the birthday party. We have some refreshments available for purchase, but depending on how long your reservation is, you may want to consider providing snacks, beverages, and a cake or other dessert.
  5. Birthday Presents: Remind guests to bring birthday presents for the birthday boy/girl, if desired. When you make a reservation with us, you get your own designated (covered) picnic table, so you will have space for presents. (If there will be times when nobody is at the table, we advise storing the presents in a car to keep them safe).
  6. Decorations: Your picnic table is YOURS for the full time of the reservation. If you want to decorate, go crazy!
  7. Capture the Moments: Make sure to take lots of pictures! Your designated paintball referee will not be able to take pictures during games (as they will be focused on making sure everyone is staying safe and having fun), but if you want any group photos outside of game play, they will be happy to take pictures for you, just ask!

What To Bring To A Kid’s Paintball Party!

We want you to be as prepared as possible, so along with our 7 tips for planning the party, here’s our Top 6 list of the things you’ll want to make sure you bring!

  1. Comfortable Clothing: Advise your child to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes that can get dirty. Layers can help to cushion the impact of paintballs.
  2. Footwear: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are essential. Consider old running shoes or hiking boots that provide good grip and ankle support.
  3. Extra Clothes and Towels: An extra set of clothes for after the game is very helpful, as the ones worn during the game will likely be covered in paint. Also, bring towels for a quick clean-up.
  4. Water and Snacks: Paintball is an energetic game, so bring plenty of water to keep the kids hydrated. Healthy snacks can help to replenish their energy during breaks.
  5. Personal Protective Equipment: We provide all essential protective gear with ouor standard rental packages, and have additional equipment available for rental/purchase (chest protectors, gloves, hats, etc). If your child has their own protective equipment that they would like to bring as well, feel free to bring them along!
  6. A Positive Attitude: Lastly, remind your child to bring a positive attitude, be ready to have fun and make the birthday party a memorable one!

Get ready for an unforgettable birthday bash at KC’s! From reserving the field to capturing every moment, we're here to ensure your child's special day is filled with excitement and joy. The Marker

Cleaning Equipment:
  • Soft cloth or microfiber towel: Use this to wipe down the exterior of the marker.
  • Cotton swabs: Ideal for reaching small crevices and tight spaces.
  • Cleaning solution: Use a manufacturer-recommended cleaning solution designed specifically for paintball markers. Avoid using harsh chemicals that can damage the marker.
  • Toilet Paper: These are handy for drying off the marker after cleaning (used like paper towels, but softer to make sure we don’t scratch the marker).

Cleaning Process:
  1. Prepare your workspace: Find a well-lit, clean area to work on. Lay down a towel or mat to protect the surface from any spills (I often use newspaper).
  2. Disassemble the marker: Refer to your marker's manual for disassembly instructions. Remove the barrel, hopper, bolt, and any other detachable parts.
  3. Wipe down the exterior: Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to wipe away any paint, dirt, or debris from the exterior of the marker. Pay attention to any nooks or crannies.
  4. Clean the barrel: Moisten a cotton swab with the cleaning solution and gently clean the inside of the barrel. Insert the swab and rotate it to remove any paint residue or dirt. Repeat as necessary. (I often push a ball of wet toilet paper through the barrel followed by a ball of dry toilet paper… this is the equivalent of a field squeegee but more thorough since we aren’t on the field).
  5. Clean internal parts: Dampen a cotton swab or soft cloth with the cleaning solution and carefully clean the bolt, O-rings, and other internal components. Be thorough but gentle to avoid damaging any delicate parts.
  6. Dry, oil, and reassemble: Use toilet paper to dry off all the cleaned parts. Once dry, apply oil to o-rings and all manufacturer recommended parts. Reassemble the marker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  7. Perform a function check: Before storing the marker, perform a function check to ensure everything is working properly. Check the trigger, air system, and other essential functions.

Remember to always refer to your marker's manual for specific cleaning instructions and guidelines. Regular cleaning and maintenance will help keep your marker in optimal condition, ensuring reliable performance and prolonging its lifespan.

What is the Blue Gray Game?

2/27/2024

The year is 1861. The nation stands divided, torn asunder by the tendrils of conflict. Brother against brother, father against son, the very fabric of society frays beneath the weight of ideological discord. The echo of cannons reverberates across verdant fields and desolate plains, each blast a poignant reminder of the price of dissent.

Today, nearly 200 years later, a group of intrepid souls gathers upon a field, not to wage war in earnest, but to rekindle the flames of history. They don the spirit of soldiers long past, their uniforms weathered by time but their spirits undimmed. Here, in this hallowed space, they partake in a re-enactment like no other, a testament to the enduring legacy of a conflict that shaped a nation.

The Blue-Gray Game unfolds before them, a symphony of strategy and camaraderie set against the backdrop of an era steeped in turmoil. Each participant embodies the essence of a soldier from yesteryear, their hearts beating in unison with those who marched before them. They take to the field with purpose, their eyes alight with determination as they prepare to engage in the ultimate test of skill and valor.

As the battle commences, the air is rent with the quick pop and sudden thuds of paintballs replacing the crackle of musket fire and the thunderous roar of cannonade. Lines are drawn, alliances forged, and enemies identified amidst the chaos of conflict. Generals and Lieutenants, the linchpins of each faction, emerge as prime targets, their every move scrutinized by friend and foe alike.

At the heart of it all lies the essence of the game itself—a thrilling blend of strategy, teamwork, and adrenaline-fueled action. Players navigate the field with precision, vying for control of strategic positions and outmaneuvering their opponents at every turn. Generals and Lieutenants become prized targets, their capture or defense determining the course of the battle.

And when the dust settles and the smoke clears, it is not victory or defeat that defines the Blue-Gray Game, but rather the spirit of unity and resilience that endures in the hearts of all who partake. For in this re-enactment of history, we find not just a reflection of the past, but a beacon of hope for the future—a reminder that, though the battles may change, the indomitable spirit of humanity remains unchanged.

TLDR
The Blue-Gray game is a re-enactment of the civil war. Each team is fighting to capture the other team's General and Lieutenants (who are worth 25 and 50 points respectively).

If a General or Liutenant is shot, it is then a race between THEIR medic and ANY player on the opposing team. If the medic gets to them first, they are revived. If an opposing player gets to them, the other team gets points.

The game runs in 1 hour "sprints" with half-hour breaks. During the play sessions, it is a reincarnation game with respawn points marked for each team.

Make sure you stay to the end because every player is automatically entered in a raffel to win fun and exciting prizes.

We can’t wait to see you on the field!

Using Bunkers Tactically: Volume 2

1/23/2024

In the heart-pounding realm of paintball, strategic prowess can make the difference between victory and defeat. While leaning against bunkers might seem like second nature and make you feel safer…  there's a hidden danger to it and an alternative that can maximize your gameplay.

The Illusion of Comfort: Leaning Against Bunkers

Picture yourself on the field, crouched behind a sturdy bunker, the adrenaline coursing through your veins. Whether it’s to rest and catch your breath, or to hide from a rope of paint, It's tempting to lean into your bunker…
However, this seemingly innocuous act can have huge negative effects on your game! Leaning against bunkers might offer a fleeting sense of comfort, but it comes at a cost – a compromised field of vision and sluggish reaction time.
Leaning against bunkers restricts your field of vision, creating blind spots that opponents can exploit. It also increases your odds of being flanked because you can’t turn to face the other side of your bunker as quickly…. So what do you do instead?

Unveiling the Tactical Advantage: Facing the Bunker

Contrary to instinct, maintaining a vigilant stance facing the bunker is the key to unlocking your tactical advantage. Picture yourself crouched, marker at the ready, eyes scanning the battlefield. By facing the bunker, you gain the ability to swiftly move, fire with precision when needed, and most importantly, maintain a comprehensive view of your surroundings.
Crouching behind the bunker with your marker poised in the "ready to fire" position allows you to seamlessly transition between defensive and offensive maneuvers. This dynamic posture transforms you into a versatile player, capable of adapting to the ever-changing dynamics of the paintball battleground.

The Need for Speed: Agility in Action

Speed is one of your most valuable assets in paintball, and leaning against bunkers hinders your ability to move, pivot, and even turn your head, quickly. By staying a foot or two back and facing the bunker, you position yourself for rapid movement, maximizing your ability to see the field, minimizing your odds of being flanked, and maintaining the same amount of protection.
Keeping a "ready to fire" stance makes sure that you can unleash a barrage of paintballs the moment you need to. This split-second advantage can be the difference between your game ending right here, right now, and you adding a “kill” to your count!
In the fast-paced world of paintball, every moment counts, and optimizing your reaction time is paramount. Keep these tips in mind the next time you’re on the field and let us know how they work for you!

We can’t wait to see you back on the field!

Using Bunkers Tactically

12/26/2023

Try not to look over the top of bunkers!

Sounds a little strange, right? Here’s the deal… while on the field, you want to give your opponents as small of a target as possible.

That makes looking over the top of a bunker pretty problematic. Either you’re just poking your head up without your gun (which makes you nothing more than a target) OR you’re poking your entire upper body over that bunker so your gun is ready.

Either way you’re giving a pretty big target!

(Even when just poking your head over the top, you’re entire top of head, forehead, and eyeballs are sticking out!)

Instead, peak over the side of bunkers, with your gun drawn and ready. Your gun can peak out first, making sure you are always ready to shoot, and you can make sure the target you provide for your opponents is much smaller (You still need to see, so that you’re not cheating, but there is a lot less of a target to the side of your eyes then there is above them).

This strategic approach not only minimizes your exposure but also maintains your offensive capability. By keeping your body behind cover while allowing just your gun to lead the way, you become a harder target for opponents to hit. Remember, in the game of paintball, the less your adversaries see of you, the better. So, next time you're crouched behind a bunker, opt for the side-peek maneuver and reduce your chances of getting smacked in the goggles by your opponents!

Cleaning Equipment:
  • Soft cloth or microfiber towel: Use this to gently wipe down the exterior of the paintball mask.
  • Mild soap or gentle cleaner: Utilize a mild soap or specialized cleaner designed for paintball masks. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the mask's lens or frame.
  • Cotton swabs: Ideal for reaching small crevices and tight spaces.
  • Toilet Paper: Convenient for drying off the mask after cleaning, providing a gentle touch to prevent scratches.

Cleaning Process:
  • Prepare your workspace: Find a well-ventilated and clean area to work on. Lay down a towel or mat to protect the surface from any potential spills.
  • Remove detachable parts: Follow the manufacturer's instructions to safely detach any removable parts, such as the lens or foam inserts, for separate cleaning if applicable.
  • Wipe down the exterior: Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to gently wipe away any dirt, paint residue, or debris from the outer surface of the mask. Pay attention to any intricate details or hard-to-reach areas.
  • Clean the lens: If the lens is removable, clean it separately according to the manufacturer's instructions. Otherwise, use a mild soap or specialized cleaner and a soft cloth to carefully clean the lens while avoiding any excessive pressure or scrubbing. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • Clean the frame and foam: Moisten a soft cloth or cotton swab with the cleaning solution and gently clean the frame, paying attention to any areas with accumulated dirt or paint. For foam inserts, use a mild soap solution or cleaner and gently wipe them down. Rinse and allow them to dry completely.
  • Inspect for any damages: Carefully examine the mask, including the lens, frame, straps, and foam, for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. If you notice any issues, consider replacing the affected parts or the entire mask to maintain optimal safety and performance.
  • Dry and reassemble: Use toilet paper or a soft cloth to thoroughly dry all the cleaned components. Ensure there is no moisture left behind to prevent fogging or discomfort during gameplay. Reassemble the mask, making sure all parts are securely in place.
  • Store in a cool, dry place: Once the mask is completely dry, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. This helps maintain the integrity of the materials and prolongs the lifespan of the mask.

By following these maintenance steps, you can keep your paintball mask clean, comfortable, and in optimal condition, ensuring a clear field of vision and reliable protection during games. Regular cleaning and proper care of your equipment contribute to a safe and enjoyable paintball experience. Remember to inspect your mask before each use and replace any damaged or worn components as needed.
