What is the Blue Gray Game?

2/27/2024

The year is 1861. The nation stands divided, torn asunder by the tendrils of conflict. Brother against brother, father against son, the very fabric of society frays beneath the weight of ideological discord. The echo of cannons reverberates across verdant fields and desolate plains, each blast a poignant reminder of the price of dissent.

Today, nearly 200 years later, a group of intrepid souls gathers upon a field, not to wage war in earnest, but to rekindle the flames of history. They don the spirit of soldiers long past, their uniforms weathered by time but their spirits undimmed. Here, in this hallowed space, they partake in a re-enactment like no other, a testament to the enduring legacy of a conflict that shaped a nation.

The Blue-Gray Game unfolds before them, a symphony of strategy and camaraderie set against the backdrop of an era steeped in turmoil. Each participant embodies the essence of a soldier from yesteryear, their hearts beating in unison with those who marched before them. They take to the field with purpose, their eyes alight with determination as they prepare to engage in the ultimate test of skill and valor.

As the battle commences, the air is rent with the quick pop and sudden thuds of paintballs replacing the crackle of musket fire and the thunderous roar of cannonade. Lines are drawn, alliances forged, and enemies identified amidst the chaos of conflict. Generals and Lieutenants, the linchpins of each faction, emerge as prime targets, their every move scrutinized by friend and foe alike.

At the heart of it all lies the essence of the game itself—a thrilling blend of strategy, teamwork, and adrenaline-fueled action. Players navigate the field with precision, vying for control of strategic positions and outmaneuvering their opponents at every turn. Generals and Lieutenants become prized targets, their capture or defense determining the course of the battle.

And when the dust settles and the smoke clears, it is not victory or defeat that defines the Blue-Gray Game, but rather the spirit of unity and resilience that endures in the hearts of all who partake. For in this re-enactment of history, we find not just a reflection of the past, but a beacon of hope for the future—a reminder that, though the battles may change, the indomitable spirit of humanity remains unchanged.

TLDR
The Blue-Gray game is a re-enactment of the civil war. Each team is fighting to capture the other team's General and Lieutenants (who are worth 25 and 50 points respectively).

If a General or Liutenant is shot, it is then a race between THEIR medic and ANY player on the opposing team. If the medic gets to them first, they are revived. If an opposing player gets to them, the other team gets points.

The game runs in 1 hour "sprints" with half-hour breaks. During the play sessions, it is a reincarnation game with respawn points marked for each team.

Make sure you stay to the end because every player is automatically entered in a raffel to win fun and exciting prizes.

We can’t wait to see you on the field!

MudBowl? What's that?

Every year, KC Crusaders hosts our annual MUDBOWL game. Last year was the biggest turn out yet for this fantastic game. And the timing is perfect to try out all the new gear Santa brings for Christmas.

What is the difference between this and other scenario games? Think soccer and paintball combined. Two teams. Points are earned by getting the ball to the "Goal". If you get HIT while in possession of the ball, you drop it where you stand and head for reincarnation, leaving the ball up for either team to gain control over. How the heck do you play a sport while under attack you ask?Ever watch American Gladiator, LOL? It can be done. The really great part about this game is you can play a couple different strategies. You can play for the ball, or hang back and add to the cross fire coverage. Either way, you will have a great time!

Remember safety first, then SCORE those points! Mud & Paintball, what more fun can you have the Day after Christmas? See you December 26th!

ZOMBIE MAYHEM GAME

The first whispers of a problem came as cell phone videos capturing strange attacks went viral. It only took a week for our entire world to change. Friends and family members began to get sick, then turn on their caretakers. By the time we understood what was happening it was too late. Humanity slipped away as an unquenchable hunger for flesh replaced it. These were not the slow lumbering Zombies we'd laughed at in the movies. No. They are fast, agile and starving. Mayhem ensued.

Until one Doctor in Seattle announced he'd discovered the cure. You would think the world would have been relieved. You would think a lot of things, but he discovered Zombies were not the only danger, because whoever controls the cure controls mankind. Forced to run for his life, he hid the cure in the forest near his home town, South Prairie. When he was found dead, the world thought all was lost.

Now locals have discovered the box and notified authorities. Some have sworn to protect it as they wait for officials to retrieve the only hope for mankind. Some anarchist factions have sworn to destroy the cure, profiting from the fall of mankind.

Your job as a citizen, nay... a human being, is to secure and protect the cure against those who would destroy it until the final horn sounds indicating authorities have arrived to retrieve the cure and save the world.

Warring factions and flesh eating monsters. One box, humanity's only hope. Are you up to the Zombie Mayhem challenge?

and awarded a bag of paint. Everyone is encouraged to Zombify your gear. Keep in mind
